This year the bank has also been recognised as best in Andorran in private banking by the financial magazines ‘The Banker’ and ‘PWM’ of the Financial Times Group
Crèdit Andorrà has been chosen as Bank of the Year in Andorra 2017 by The Banker magazine, part of the Financial Times Group, also named this year by the same publication and by PWM as the best private bank in Andorra.
The award as Bank of the Year in Andorra recognises Crèdit Andorrà’s progress and refers to parameters such as the results obtained and the balance between the bank’s international strategy of expansion and its business in the country. Other elements taken into account are the bank’s commitment in matters of sustainability, and its initiatives in innovation and digitalisation during the last year.
Antoni Pintat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crèdit Andorrà, Josep Peralba, Chief Executive Officer, and Xavier Cornella, Managing Director, attended the award ceremony, which took place in London. Over the last fifteen years the bank has been distinguished as Bank of the Year in Andorra on nine occasions.
The financial publication remarked on the Crèdit Andorrà’s ability to find a balance between consolidating business in the country, a strategy of expansion on the international scale and maintaining the key figures, all in a complex year of change with the restructuring of the international financial system and adaptation to the new regulatory framework.
With regard to internationalisation, The Banker appreciated the Group’s expansion in Europe and America with its boutique banking project, backed up by the consolidation of Luxembourg as the best platform for the creation and management of investment vehicles.
On another point, the bank’s drive towards innovation in the business model was also one of the features highlighted. Crèdit Andorrà is immersed in the process of product and service digitalisation in order to provide a response to new market needs and new client profiles.
In this context, there are outstanding initiatives such as Merkaat, the first digital investment advisor in Andorra, which allows clients to have total management of their own investments.
Initiatives in social commitments were also appreciated, such as the fact of being the first Andorran bank to join the United Nations Global Compact and the first entity to commit to adopting the United Nations’ “Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The senior representatives of Crèdit Andorrà have expressed their thanks to the clients for their trust and to the Group’s human team for their efforts. The Chief Executive Officer, Josep Peralba, said that “the prize as Bank of the Year in Andorra, together with the award given to us in October as the best entity in the country in private banking, forms a double acknowledgement of our consolidation as the benchmark bank in the country, in both business and social commitment. This prize encourages us to keep up the drive for constant innovation and work with perseverance for excellence in service”.
